Pippa x Dubai

I have always been so fascinated by women in football and the journey they have embarked on to get where they are today. So when I first came across Lauren a few years ago, a London girl with a desire so strong,  I just knew we had to be friends. I won't say too much about Lauren in this post because I plan to interview her on her inspiring story very soon.

When Lauren invited me over to Dubai to experience the AG league in all its glory, giving me the VVIP treatment, it was an offer I couldn't refuse.

Once I arrived in Dubai I was afraid Lauren's schedule would be way too busy to adhere to my tourist needs, but being the amazing young lady she is, she managed to fit me in.

I literally saw every corner of Dubai, the only place I didn't visit was AD (Abu Dhabi) there was just not enough time to do it all in my short stay. However in my 4 nights stay I believe we ate at 9 different restaurants ( I am literally a food whore). There was just too much good food on offer to ignore, I even had an Emirati breakfast on my last day in Dubai. I was extremely fascinated by the city, and guess what?! EVERYTHING is drive-thru, from the Starbucks to the chemists. I was amazed! Ha!

Okay, I'm going off track here, back to the football. I visited a couple different stadiums, and of course the champions Al Ain had the most modern stadium with a huge capacity.

Being in the mixer after such a high profile game came as a huge shock to me as most of the journalists if not all were women. I was in disbelief  but impressed. With my lack of knowledge of the culture, my naivety led me to believe that women were still oppressed and were made to be stay at home wives. Little do I know.

Have a look at my time in Dubai here:
