Magnum London

Ever since Raphael has been born, I can count the amount of times I have travelled into the west end. Before he was born I pretty much lived in the west end; working in almost every major retailer on Oxford street, from Topshop to Selfridges.

Working in such a desired tourist location, every weekend, I would come across some amazing pop up stores or food markets that I would be none the wiser to if I wasn't in the right place at the right time.

Last week Raphael and I headed down to Covent Garden to visit the London Transport museum, on our journeys we discovered the magnum pleasure store. I mean I'm not much of an ice cream fan but I am a sucker for cute shops with a beautiful window dressing. So I took a look appreciated the visual merchandising and continued to walk past the country mile long queue. Raphael was having none of it; "Mummy I want ice creeeaaaaaam" I replied with the typical mummy response; another day raphy, we will come back another day.
It's a good thing I gave into Rapheals embarrassing moans because much to my surprise, the decadent store that looked like it was built for Covent Garden was a pop up store that was closing that very Sunday!

Now I mentioned I'm not an ice cream fan, but after the experience of creating our very own magnum ice cream topped with Cinnamon Sugar, Brownies, Caramel curls and drizzled with white chocolate. I fell in love. I fell in love so deep I was tempted to beg the manager to stay. Please stay. Don't ever leave. Just stay open a little while longer.

Of course if you're reading this the Magnum pleasure store is now closed. If you're wishing you knew about it much sooner and are wondering why on earth I wrote a blog post about something that doesn't exist anymore. The answer is simple my friend: Get out more, explore your city.

This is my new motto. Travelling around London is so much easier now that I don't have to beg tourists at the train station to help me carry my pushchair up the stairs.

So let's explore London
P.s if you have discovered any cool and unusual places that are in London for a limited time only. Please let me know. Cheers x
