Arsenal make a pacey start to the game as Correderea places a long cross over to Carter on the right wing. Carter rushes forward and plays the ball into Nobbs feet in the middle of the park ,but with a little too much enthusiasm Nobbs rockets the ball over the crossbar.
With a fair few chances in the first 5 minutes, Corredera controls the attack on the left wing as she beautifully back kicks the ball around the defender makes a run towards the six yard box and crosses the ball wide across the face of the goal, Carter manages to get on the end of it but her efforts are deflected out.
Birmingham manage to get an attack underway but Stoney beats Linnett off the ball and kicks the ball out giving Birmingham City their first corner of the game. Arsenal ladies react quickly to the corner with a pacey counter attack, Scott races down the wing with Carter to help, Carter makes a promising run on goal but smashes the crossbar.
The first ten minutes of the game continues with a tremendous amount of counter attacks from the Arsenal Ladies, Corredera strikes a powerful curled shot towards goal from a beautifully placed cross in from Nobbs, Corredera gives Arsenal the lead. With just a minute after Arsenals lead, Carter paces down the middle from yet another counter attack and chips the ball over Baggaley as the ball falls into the goal. Arsenal lead 2-0 before half time
With minutes to go until half time Carney makes two attempts to get Birminham city on the score sheet, the first attempt hits the side netting, the second attempt rebounds of the keepers hands , pings of the side post and bounces out away from goal.
Just a minute into the second half Arsenal captain Alex scott volleys the ball into the goal giving the ladies their 3rd goal of the day.
Birmingham city are quick to react as Linnett fires a ball into the far corner of the net, Van Veenendall spectates as the ball passes her
Birmingham city look the better side in the second half as Arsenals defence eases off and the city ladies make a number of runs forward.
Arsenal ldies hold onto their lead with minutes to go until the final whistle Carter rockets the ball into the side netting.
